A shocking video has surfaced online showing a contractor violently beating a labourer after work was reportedly not finished on time. In the footage, the labourer is seen dangling upside down while his supervisor hits him multiple times with a stick. As of now, the exact reason for this cruel act is still unclear. After the video went viral, the Gurugram police quickly began to investigate the case.
Assault Caught On Camera
In the upsetting video, the contractor is seen hitting the labourer with a stick, while another man is tying him to a pillar. Another person nearby is talking and asking about the work progress, as if nothing wrong is happening. What’s more shocking is that there were several other people present at the site during the incident. Even though the worker was clearly in pain and crying for help, no one stepped in to stop the abuse or support him.
According to Free Press Journal reports, the labourer tried to report the violent attack, but he was allegedly kidnapped before he could take further action. Sources said that the contractor involved in the incident claims to have strong political connections, including ties to a Union minister from Haryana. His wife is also said to be a lawyer in the High Court. The accused was reportedly threatening the labourer to scare and stop the matter from becoming public. He was trying to keep the incident quiet and avoid any legal trouble.
Police Action
After the video started spreading online and the issue got serious, Gurugram Police decided to take action on their own, even though the victim had not filed any complaint or contacted the authorities yet. They have registered an FIR and started looking into the case. The police then started to find the people involved in the attack and also tried to locate the victim. So far, the police have arrested four people in connection with the case. But they have not shared the names or details of those who were taken into custody.
