Bengaluru has often been famously referred to as the Silicon Valley of India and is purely associated with innovation and the spirit of venture. In a city where dreams are shaped in the form of billion-dollar technology companies, it is not shocking to see that even the auto-rickshaw ride can become a quick pitch session. This time, a “graduate” and an auto driver, Samuel Christy, has gained fame through his unique way of funding the startup idea he possesses.

Putting up a poster in his auto-rickshaw, the driver encourages his passengers to talk about his business strategy. The poster reads: “Hi passenger, my name is Samuel Christy. I’m a graduate who is looking to raise funds for my startup business idea. If you’re interested, please talk to me.”

The initiative was first noticed on Reddit where it was described as a “Peak Bengaluru” a phrase used to refer to a moment of extraordinary innovation and hard work from the city. The post quickly went viral, amassing thousands of views and sparking widespread discussion.

Some of the users commended Christy’s tenacity emphasising that his story is proof of the strong entrepreneurial culture in Bengaluru. Reactions included people who offered their willingness to learn more about his idea. A few others suggested otherwise citing earlier fraudster cases of auto drivers in the city.

A user commented, “I think it’s a great effort. Hope he is doing something good and hope he succeeds!”

While some users highlighted the grammatical errors in the placard, a user noted, “If someone is interested in making a startup, I’d worry about the idea, not about the grammar.”

A third user went on to say, “If he’s interested, I could help him for a price.”

A skeptical user mentioned an incident of fraud stating, “This could be a scam too, the auto drivers are the biggest scamster in Bengaluru few years back there was an auto guy who used to find daily near my office in Koramangala. He got somehow JEE Advanced score card of some guy, anyone who took his auto he shows it to them saying it’s his son and he don’t have money for his admission. He even took money from many of my colleagues for his fake fund raising. Later he caught by one of my colleague who somehow knew that guy whose score card he was using he complaint to police and that guy caught.”
