
The Government of India has given a big gift to the farmers cultivating soybean. The central government has extended the deadline for soybean procurement in Maharashtra and Rajasthan. According to Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan, the Center has told the state governments that the deadline for purchasing soybean in Maharashtra is January 31 and in Rajasthan, soybean can be purchased till February 4. Earlier, the last date for soybean purchase was 12 January for Maharashtra and 15 January for Rajasthan.

The Agriculture Minister has said that the work of purchasing soybean is going on. We have extended the time for its procurement in both Maharashtra and Rajasthan on the request of the state governments. The government has also allowed additional procurement of 25,000 tonnes from Telangana, which has already reached its initial target of 59,508 tonnes.
So many lakh tonnes have been purchased
Agriculture Minister Chauhan said that till now the total procurement of soybean across the country has reached 13.68 lakh tonnes. In Maharashtra and Rajasthan, this procurement is being done under the price support scheme, in which the government is purchasing soybean at a minimum support price of Rs 4,892 per quintal.

will be reviewed
The Agriculture Minister said that crop status, procurement progress, price trend and weather conditions will be reviewed. For this, a weekly meeting will be held on Monday in Krishi Bhawan.
