Government employees will now be able to travel by Vande Bharat, Tejas and Humsafar trains under LTC.

New LTC Rule: The Government of India has given a wonderful gift to the government employees of the country. Now under Leave Travel Concession (LTC), government employees will be able to travel in luxury trains like Vande Bharat and Humsafar as well as private trains like Tejas. This decision has been taken with the aim of improving their travel facilities during the journey. The decision has been taken after the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) received several suggestions regarding inclusion of more premium trains in the LTC scheme.

Now these trains have also been included in LTC

Earlier, government employees could travel under LTC only by Rajdhani Express, Shatabdi Express and Duronto Express. Now according to the new order of DoPT, now government employees will be able to travel in Tejas Express, Vande Bharat Express and Humsafar Express as per their eligibility.

What is LTC?

LTC or Leave Travel Concession is a government facility provided by the Central Government to enable Indians to travel on their leisure. Under this, some part of the travel expenses of the employees is returned by the government. This facility is for Central Government employees and its objective is to encourage employees to travel with their families during leave.

There are two types of LTC

There are two types of LTC, one is Hometown LTC and one is All India LTC. In Hometown LTC, you can travel to your hometown with your family twice in every four-year block, whereas in All India LTC, you can travel to any part of the country. Under LTC, you will be able to claim reimbursement of money spent on traveling by rail, road or air. Apart from this, you will not be able to claim reimbursement of the amount spent on hotel, food or sightseeing.
