Golden opportunity for Indian students to study in Romania, know how to get admission


Romania Embassy has invited applications for scholarship for Indian students for 2025-26 academic year for Bachelor, Master and PhD programs. These scholarships provide financial assistance in all fields, except medical, dental medicine and pharmacy.

This is the application process

Interested candidates can apply by visiting the link “Apply for MFA Scholarships” through Study in Romania Platform (Studyinromania.gov.ro). Only applications made on this platform will be accepted. The last date of the application is 12 March 2025. There is no contribution in the selection process of the Ministry of Education, Government of India. The final decision of the selection will be made by the donor country.

Candidates applying for scholarship have to fulfill various qualifications:

  • Submit a full application file.
  • Present valid study documents from recognized institutions.
  • Follow the nomination deadline.
  • Get the minimum average marks 7 (or “good” according to the Romanian system in your recent academic study.
  • Follow the application method.

Scholarship coverage:

This scholarship is available for these academic levels:

  • Bachelor’s degree: For high school or pre-university graduates. Programs last up to 3-6 years, which depend on specialization, and end with Bachelor examination.
  • Master degree: For graduate students. Programs last up to 1-2 years and end with a desertation examination.
  • PhD: For higher education graduates. Programs last for 3-5 years and require written agreement and admission interview with doctoral tutors.

The recipient of scholarship for bachelor and master programs will have to study in Romanian language, if the candidates are not capable in the language, there will also be a preparatory year (preparation year).

PhD candidates can choose one of Romanian or any foreign language, as prescribed by the doctoral school.

Romanian preparation exemption from year Those candidates will be given, which:

  • Romanians have studied documents or have studied in Romanian for at least four years.
  • Romanians pass the language exam.
  • Romanian language efficiency certificate (minimum B1 level) is presented.
