Astronomers issued a warning about a massive asteroid that is set to come close to the Earth.
Space is filled with mysteries.
A giant meteorite has increased NASA’s problems. They fear that if this meteorite is as big as a rock and it touches the earth, it could cause devastation. A meteorite is a small planet, which breaks into small pieces at the time of formation of a planet and stars revolving around the Sun. One of these pieces comes near the Earth. Many asteroids burn up beforehand, and many times they have also collided with the Earth. Space is filled with mysteries. Sometimes we face the threat of an asteroid moving towards the Earth; and over time, scientists spot a new star. Currently, astronomers have issued a warning about a massive asteroid that is set to come very close to Earth. While talking about the size of this meteorite, scientists argued that its average size is as big as the Empire State Building. Its size is 450*170 metres and if it touches the earth, the explosion caused by it will be as big as a hundred atom bombs falling on the Earth. NASA is worried about it because it has been a threat to the Earth since 2004.
This asteroid is being called the ‘God of Chaos’ and it will pass very close to Earth on November 13. This meteorite has been named Space Rock 99942 Apophis. Due to the gravitational force of our planet, it will pass at a distance of 19,000 miles from Earth.
According to the Planetary Society, its impact will be like the explosion of hundreds of nuclear bombs. This meteorite has been a cause of concern for NASA for the last 20 years because there is a possibility of it colliding with Earth. Since its discovery in 2004, it has been considered a threat to Earth. It is a matter of relief that according to NASA’s Near-Earth Object Studies Center, this meteorite will not collide with Earth at least in the coming 100 years.
A team of researchers led by asteroid scientist Ronald-Louis Ballouz said that if Apophis passes through the Earth’s gravitational field, the possibility of astroquakes will increase. This will cause severe vibrations on the surface.
