GST Collection in April: Amidst global uncertainty, this good news has come out for India on the economy front when the records increased by 12.6% in April in April to reach around Rs 2.37 lakh crore. According to data on Thursday released by the government, GST revenue increased by 10.7% to about Rs 1.9 lakh crore from domestic transactions during April 2025. So the revenue from imported goods increased by 20.8% to Rs 46,913 crore.

Maharashtra has the highest GST collection

If we look at the statistics of the state -wise GST collection, then last month, Mahairashtra gave Rs 41,645 crore as GST. A year ago, the GST collection in Maharashtra in April was Rs 37,671 crore. That is, on an annual basis, it has increased by about 11 percent. The GST collection from Karnataka increased by about 11 per cent and Rs 17,815 crore was then paid on the tax. At the same time, 14,057 crore GST was found in Haryana in the states of North India.

On the GST record collection, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that it reflects the strength of the Indian economy and the effectiveness of cooperative federalism. The ‘refund’ released last month rose 48.3% to Rs 27,341 crore. After adjusting this ‘refund’, the pure GST collection increased by 9.1% to more than Rs 2.09 lakh crore in April.
