Indeed, the nature of cloves is “warm” ie hot, and the intake of very hot tasted foods in the summer season can affect the digestive system.

According to research, the element called yuzenol present in cloves is capable of fighting the infection, but it can also increase the body temperature slightly. In such a situation, if a person has problems related to acidity, gas or bile in the summer season, then excessive intake of cloves can be harmful for him.

Beneficial for sore throat and digestion

However, experts also believe that if cloves are used in the right amount (such as a limited amount of spice in one or two cloves or food in tea) then it can prove to be beneficial even in summer. Cloves can relieve sore throat, smell of breath and digestive problems in summer. Ayurvedacians suggest that in summer, cloves should be taken in combination with cool nature foods like fennel, sugar candy or gulkand, so that its heat can be balanced. Clove is beneficial throughout the year due to its medicinal properties, but in summer it should be consumed in a balanced amount and properly.
