Justin Trudeau: The tension between India and Canada is increasing these days. Meanwhile, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has shared a video of celebrating Diwali on Twitter (first), in which he went to temples to celebrate Diwali and interacted with the Hindu community. While sharing the video, he said, “Happy Diwali! Had many special moments celebrating with the community this week.”

Decision was taken to cancel Diwali

Earlier, Canada’s opposition leader Pierre Poilievre and the Conservative Party had decided to cancel this year’s Diwali celebrations, after which huge resentment was seen among the Hindu, Sikh, Buddhist and Jain communities. India’s Foreign Ministry had expressed displeasure over this.
