The government has increased the auto settlement limit from Rs 1 lakh to Rs 5 lakh. This information was given by Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandavia on 24 June 2025.

EPFO first started an auto settlement system for advance claim during the Kovid-19 epidemic, so that people could reach their funds as soon as possible. Earlier this limit was up to Rs 1 lakh, but now it has been reduced to Rs 5 lakh. This will benefit those people who suddenly require their money in an emergency.

18-25 ages at the forefront

According to the latest EPFO ​​data, 19.14 lakh new members were added in April 2025. This is a 31.31 per cent increase as compared to March 2025 and compared to April 2024 last year, then 1.17 per cent more. The biggest participation in this was the youth between 18 and 25 years. In this age group, 4.89 lakh people joined EPFO, which is 57.67 percent of the total new members.

Maharashtra becomes top state

As far as state -wise data is concerned, Maharashtra has added the most new PF members, beating all other states. Apart from this, there are also 15.77 lakh people who returned again in April 2025 after going out of EPFO, which is a strong indication that both employment opportunities and PF awareness are increasing.
