Provident fund transfer rules become easier
The Employee Provident Fund Organization has issued a circular on January 15, 2025, in which the process of transfer of provident fund account on change of job has been simplified. In these cases, the rule of making online provident fund account transfer claim through the existing or old or new employer has been abolished.
The cases in which relief has been given are as follows –
- In cases where the Universal Account Number is allotted on or after 1st October, 2017 and is linked to Aadhaar, transfer of Provident Fund Account between Member IDs of the same Universal Account Number will be allowed only in such cases. Relief has been given.
- Transfer is to be made between Member IDs linked with different Universal Account Numbers and in these cases the Universal Account Number is allotted on or after October 1, 2017 and is linked with Aadhaar.
- Transfer is to take place between Member IDs linked to the same Universal Account Number, where the Universal Account Number was allotted before October 1, 2017 and is linked to Aadhaar, and the Member ID consists of Name, Date of Birth and Same gender.
- Cases of transfer between different Universal Account Number linked Member IDs in which at least one UAN was allotted before October 1, 2017, is linked to the same Aadhaar, and the name, date of birth and gender in the Member IDs are same. Is.
It is important for personal details to be correct everywhere
The circular of the Employee Provident Fund Organization means that in the above mentioned cases, now employees can directly claim for provident transfer. That is, if the UAN is linked to Aadhaar and the personal details given everywhere by the subscribers exactly match, then now the provident fund can be transferred even without employer verification.
