ENG vs WI: England names Playing XI for first ODI against West Indies


England named its Playing XI for the first ODI against West Indies, to be held on Thursday at Edgbaston in Birmingham.

Newly appointed white-ball captain Harry Brook will lead the side, while leg-spinner Adil Rashid will make his 150th ODI appearance. Jamie Smith will open the batting for the Three Lions with Ben Duckett while all-rounder Jacob Bethell returns to international duty after plying his trade in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

All-rounder Brydon Carse returns to the fold after a toe injury, and will be part of a depleted pace attack that includes Jamie Overton and Saqib Mahmood. Jofra Archer and Gus Atkinson were ruled out of the series due to injury.
