England beat India in an extraordinary run chase in the first Test of a 5-match series on Tuesday, triggering a flood of memes on the internet, where users mocked Team India for losing despite setting a humongous target of 371.

England chased down the total with 5 wickets in hand in 82 overs on the last day of the Test match.

While people missed the presence of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma – who retired from the longest format of the game ahead of the series – some even trolled Yashasvi Jaiswal for dropping four catch in the match, one of which came at a crucial stage on Day 5. Users also trolled US President Donald Trump over his repeated mediation claims between countries and linked his remarks to cricket.

“There’s still hope. Trump could intervene and get India and England to agree to a draw,” a user wrote on X.

“Congratulations India on getting 5 Centuries. Next time try and Win a Test match maybe,” a troll page named Dinda Academy wrote.

A user missed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in the match and posted an AI image with the caption, “Bachcho pe chhoda to kya haal hua hai (We left it up to the youngesters and what has happened).

Users Troll Yashasvi Jaiswal For Dropped Catches

A user shared the video of Yashasvi Jaiswal dancing near the boundary line during the match, which was caught on camera, and trolled him for dropping the catch.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal dancing, as he already helped England enough by winning them a test match after 6+ catch drops,” the user said.

“100 Runs Banaye Hai Aur 200 Runs Worth 5 Catch Chod Chuka Hai,” a Netizen Wrote.

Jaiswal dropped Ben Duckett on 97, when India badly needed a wicket to stay in the game. The English opener went on to score a match-winning ton, scoring 149.

“Siraj and Bumrah with Yashasvi Jaiswal,” a user shared an edited image from a comedy move Golmal 3.

“Dressing Room scenes. guess the characters??” another user wrote, sharing the meme from the movie Khatta Meetha, in which Johnny Lever says sarcastically, “Yeh bhi meri galti hai (even this is my fault)”.

“Yashasvi Jaiswal before this match,” another one said, sharing the meme of Pakistani players dropping a dolly catch.

Jaiswal earlier gave lifelines to Ollie Pope, Duckett, and Harry Brook when they were on scores of 15, 60, and 83, respectively, in the match.
