ENG vs IND, 4th Test: England replaces injured Shoaib Bashir with Liam Dawson

England replaced injured off-spinner Shoaib Bashir with left-arm tweaker Liam Dawson for its squad for the fourth Test against India in Manchester, starting on July 23.

The 35-year-old Dawson last played in a Test in July 2017 and will be looking to add to his three caps.

Dawson has been a consistent performer for Hampshire in recent years. He was named PCA Player of the Year in 2023 and 2024.

“Liam Dawson deserves his call-up. He has been in outstanding form in the County Championship and consistently puts in strong performances for Hampshire,” said England selector Luke Wright.
