Emergency landing in Türkiye coming from London to Mumbai, passengers stranded for 30 hours

London To Mumbai Flight Emergency Landing: A flight from Virgin Atlantic from London to Mumbai was diverted to Diyarbakir, Turkey due to a necessary medical case and technical inspection. The passengers were stranded for more than 30 hours. The airline gave this information on Thursday (April 03, 2025) by issuing a statement.

Virgin Atlantic said that it is considering all options including arranging alternative aircraft to take passengers to Mumbai. The airline said in a statement that the VS 358 flight from London’s Heathro to Mumbai on April 2 was canceled after the Turki’s Diyarbakir airport was turned away after being turned at the Turki as the aircraft had a technical problem after landing at the airport.

Airline regretted the inconvenience of passengers

Regreting the inconvenience to passengers, the airline said that its engineers are continuing intensive assessment of the aircraft. The company said, “We are actively considering all options, including the operation of alternative aircraft, to ensure that passengers can reach Mumbai as soon as possible.” According to sources, more than 250 passengers are stranded at the airport.

The airline also said that passengers are being given the facility of staying in the hotel overnight in Türkiye and refreshments. He said, “As soon as new updates are available, we will inform all the customers.”

Passenger of flight made these allegations

A passenger named Hanuman Das alleged in a post on X that all the employees of Virgin Atlantic went to a hotel and went to everyone with only one text message. Das said, “It has been 30 hours since Virgin Atlantic aircraft left from London and we are shocked by inhuman behavior with Indian and British citizens. My wife and children have a pillow between three people and not a blanket. They are sitting in a limited place with 300 people.”

The Indian Embassy in Ankara said in a post on X that Indian officials are in touch with the officials of Diyarbakir. This post was written in response to a user, who said that about 200 Indian passengers are stranded there.
