Indians across the UAE gather together to celebrate India’s 79th Independence Day. To make the day even more special, Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, was seen lit up in the tricolours of the Indian flag.

To mark the celebration on August 15, the ceremonial display of the tricolour will be done at 7:50 pm (local time). As per the Gulf News, other UAE landmarks are also expected to light up in the Indian tricolour today.

A video of Burj Khalifa displaying Mahatma Gandhi, tricolour, and texts like “har ghar tiranga” is going viral. Several gather near the tower and full patriotic enthusiasm can be sensed in the crowd. Watch the video here.

Furthermore, the Indian diplomatic missions in the UAE organised the Indian flag hoisting ceremonies in the morning. Sharing pictures on X, Consulate General of India, Dubai wrote, “Consul General Shri Satish Sivan hoisted the tricolor @cgidubai on the occasion of the 79th #IndependenceDayIndia🇮🇳 vibrant Indian Diaspora joined the celebrations and sang National Anthem with the spirit of patriotism.”

The Consulate General of India, Dubai is also illuminated in the colours of the tricolour on Independence Day.

Satish Sivan addressed the Indian diaspora and extended his greetings on 79th Independence Day. CGI also conducted a colorful cultural program showcasing the nation’s rich heritage.

In Abu Dhabi, the official celebrations will also include a tribal art exhibition and a special display on counter-terrorism efforts by India.
