Trump said in a post on Truth Social on Thursday morning, “Drugs from Mexico and Canada are still coming to a very high and unacceptable level in our country.” The President has linked tariffs with illegal stay on the neighbors of America.

‘America will not get permission to harm’

President Trump said, “We cannot allow this crisis to harm America and therefore, until it is closed or it is limited seriously, the proposed tariffs will actually apply at the scheduled time, which are going to be applicable from March 4.”

At the same time, Mexico President Claudia Shinbam said that she wants to interact with Trump to avoid the threat of tariff. In addition, the head of a Canadian trade council warned that Trump’s threats have changed the trade relationship between the two neighbors, so much that the North American Free Trade Agreement could fail.
