As PM Modi and US President Donald Trump held a joint press conference at the White House, during the Indian Prime Minister’s two-day visit to the US, a moment from the event was widely shared on social media.

The US President claimed that he could not “understand a word” of the question that was being asked to him by the reporter.
Here’s when Donald Trump said he didn’t understand Indian reporter’s accent
The Indian reporter asked the US leader about anti-India activities in the US while PM Modi was sitting alongside. In response, Donald Trump said he couldn’t hear the question.
“You’re gonna have to go louder,” he said.
The reporter then asked the same question again but Donald Trump said, “I can’t understand a word he’s saying. It’s the accent, it’s a little bit tough for me.”
Earlier, during a press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Donald Trump did not answer a question citing difficulty in understanding the accent of a reporter from Afghanistan.
“It’s a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is I can’t understand a word you’re saying. But, but I just say this— good luck, live in peace,” he said to the female reporter from Afghanistan who had posed the question.
In the US, PM Modi also met Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Space, mobility, technology and innovation were the key topics discussed during the meeting between Elon Musk and PM Modi.
The SpaceX CEO’s three young children also accompanied him as he arrived at Blair House and were seen sitting with him when he met PM Modi.
