Giving five concrete suggestions, he said, ‘How can we resolve this contradiction? How can we create a more equitable global order?’ He said, ‘By correcting the distortions in global infrastructure inherited from the colonial era, the world urgently needs more connectivity options that increase connectivity and reduce risks.’

Jaishankar said, ‘This should be a collective effort for the well-being of all, with utmost respect for territorial integrity and sovereignty.’ He suggested strengthening and expanding multilateral fora of independent nature and reiterated India’s often adopted stance of reforming established institutions and mechanisms, particularly the UN Security Council, multilateral development banks in the permanent and non-permanent categories .

Offering India’s digital public infrastructure and other initiatives specifically for the Global South, Jaishankar said India strives to play its due role by being the first responder in times of natural disasters, health emergencies or economic crises.
