Chandrika Gera Dixit, also known as the ‘Vada Pav Girl’ of Delhi, is under fire after an Instagram video of her preparing food exposed her using unsanitary methods. The video, which has been extensively circulated on social media, shows Dixit touching her nose repeatedly while making vada pavs, which raises questions over food safety regulations. Another user commended Agarwal for bringing the issue to light, claiming that constructive criticism can drive firms to enhance their standards.
Another user commented, “This is unacceptable. Food handlers must maintain proper hygiene to ensure public safety.”
“People still fail to realize how hazardous this is to their health. Thankfully, I gave up these harmful habits a long time ago, focusing on the gym and eating healthy and I couldn’t be much happier,” a user on Instagram said.
Earlier this year, Chandrika Dixit became popular after a video of her selling vada pavs in the Sainik Vihar area of Delhi went viral. She started her own street food business after quitting her job at Haldiram’s due to personal family problems, which marked the beginning of her entrepreneurial path.
Many people found resonance in her story, which resulted in appearances on reality series like Bigg Boss OTT 3 and collaborations with other content makers. She disclosed during her appearance on the show that she makes about Rs 40,000 a day from her Vada pav stand.
