A Delhi woman who cancelled her Food Darzee subscription due to poor food quality claimed that the company ghosted her after providing only a partial refund.

A Delhi woman who subscribed to Food Darzee in December last year has shared a scathing review of her experience. She alleged that while the trial meals were well-balanced, the food quality saw a “marked decline” once the trial ended.
She further claimed that after cancelling her subscription, the company only issued a partial refund and then completely stopped responding to her inquiries.
“They once sent me the exact same meal four times in a row,” claimed the woman on Reddit, before adding, “I started a food Darzee subscription mid-December last year. They sent well-balanced meals during the trial after that there was a marked decline in the quality.”
She alleged, in a post on Reddit, that the food was “absolutely inedible” most times. “They also started using more cream and mayo in their food and a lot do the times the food was absolutely inedible so after multiple feedback texts I decided to cancel my subscription.”
“They agreed to refund me a prorated amount and I got less than half the money,” she further alleged, sharing screenshots of her WhatsApp conversation with the company.
In one of the messages, the company assured her, “The refund is in process. Our accounts team is currently reviewing your request, and we will provide you with an update as soon as possible.”
However, when she questioned the discrepancy in the amount, she received no clear response. “I received Rs 8400 as a refund when I had 50 days subscription pending. Please explain this. The 75-day plan was 28,000. So, the prorated refund should be 18,666,” the woman wrote.
A representative initially assured her, as evident from WhatsApp conversation, that they would provide a refund breakdown, but the company then went silent.
The woman received Rs 10,000 less what’s due to her is still waiting for an explanation. “It shouldn’t take this much time to explain how a refund was calculated. You should have rhat information handy and should have sent it to me with the refund in the first place,” read one of the messages from the frustrated customer.
The company appears to have ghosted her, as the blue ticks on her messages indicate that everyone in the WhatsApp group read them but chose not to respond.

Many criticised the company’s subpar food quality, with one even branding it a “scam”.
“Oh my goodness I was planning to take the subscription after seeing the hype and was a little sceptical about it, thank you so much,” said one Internet user.
Another joined, “Food Darzee is a scam, I paid and never got my meals.”
“Food Darzee is quite trashy. I did a trial a couple of years ago and found the food extremely subpar. The deliveries also weren’t on time. I haven’t heard a single person say good things about it – almost everyone who tries it has issues. Best to stay away from them,” expressed a third.
“My experience. The food is so-so. The quantity is less. And God, the service more headache than what it’s worth,” joined yet another.
