India spin bowling all-arounder Deepti Sharma gained one spot in the ICC T20I bowler rankings and moved to second position in the latest ICC update on Tuesday.
Deepti overtook Australia’s Annabel Sutherland and is now just eight points behind Pakistan’s Sadia Iqbal in the rankings.
The 27-year-old has been inside the top 10 rankings for T20I bowlers for the majority of the last six years, but she has never held the top position.
Her latest push has come on the back of a three-wicket haul in the third T20I against England. If she puts on two more strong performances with the ball in the remaining games, Deepti is in with the chance of claiming the top spot.
Among the batters, Jemimah Rodrigues gained two places to move to 12th overall after she contributed a half-century in the second match of the series in Bristol.
