According to news agency PTI, officials from India and America will begin talks on a bilateral trade agreement (BTA) in Washington on Wednesday (US time). This will be a three-day meeting, in which 19 things related to tariffs, non-tariff rules and customs (customs) will be discussed. This is the first time these issues will have a face-to-face conversation.

According to the US Trade Representative Office, this trade agreement will bring new opportunities for the employees, farmers, traders and women of both countries. With this, American goods will get more access to foreign markets, especially in India. The aim of America is that this agreement gives it a chance to do more business in India, reduce tariffs and get benefits for a long time.

Earlier, in a press release issued by the US Trade Representative Office (USTR), Ambassador Greer said that India and the US are now moving towards a new bilateral trade agreement (BTA). He informed that both countries have set the conditions required for this agreement.

He said, "I am happy to say that the USTR and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India together have prepared a roadmap for business talks." Ambassador Greer also said, "There is a lack of balance in our business relations with India. This dialogue will help American goods a place in the Indian market and remove the wrong policies that cause damage to American workers. This will bring equality and balance in trade between the two countries."
