Anshuman Raj was born in Buxar district of Bihar state. He comes from a middle class family, where there was lack of resources. When there was no electricity, Anshuman had to resort to lamps to study. Even in such difficult circumstances, his dream was to achieve success in UPSC exam, and he worked hard to fulfill this dream. Anshuman’s early education took place in the government school of the village. After this, he had to go to Ranchi to study for class 12th.
Became IAS in the fourth attempt
Anshuman’s dream was always to become an IAS after getting success in UPSC exam. He did his preparation with the help of self study. Anshuman passed the UPSC exam in his first attempt, but he got an Indian Revenue Service (IRS) post as per his rank. This was a big achievement for him, but Anshuman’s dream was to become an IAS. He did not give up and continued his preparation even after accepting the post of IRS. Anshuman continued his efforts and got success in the fourth attempt. In 2019, he secured All India 107th rank in UPSC exam, and his dream came true.

Anshuman said in an interview that if a person works hard with the right strategy, he can achieve his goal. Candidates preparing for UPSC exam can prepare for the exam even while staying in the village, provided they have an internet connection. Besides this, he also said that during preparation, the right strategy should be made and efforts should be made continuously. He said that you can also become an IAS, just do not stop working hard and it is important to have the courage to prove yourself as a person with less resources.
