Court approves arrest warrant, South Korean President arrested: Know what will happen next


Yoon Suk Yeol: South Korean President Yun Suk Yeol was formally arrested early Sunday morning. The Seoul Western District Court approved his arrest warrant. Let us tell you that Yoon Suk Yeol had announced the implementation of martial law in the country last month. His attempt failed within a short time and after this he was impeached. Just a few days ago, he was detained from Rashtrapati Bhavan in Seoul.

Last Wednesday, Yoon Suk Yeol was detained from his home by sending security forces on a large scale. After this his legal team approached the court for his release. There was a long debate on this matter in the court on Saturday. Ultimately the court refused to release Yoon due to possible destruction of evidence and approved his arrest warrant.

Senior officials of the Corruption Investigation Center, along with the police and military, can now appeal to extend Yun’s arrest for 20 days. On the other hand, Yoon’s lawyer is preparing to file a petition against the court’s arrest warrant.

There was a lot of commotion outside the court also
Yoon Suk Yeol was brought to Seoul District Court with full security in a blue van from the detention center in Uiwang. As soon as he reached the court premises, a large number of his supporters were present there to see him. This support was demanding his release. During this period the protesters also clashed with the police. 20 protesters were even caught while trying to climb the fence and move towards the court. Two vehicles of anti-corruption officers were also vandalized. A total of 40 people were detained during this period.
