Supporting Gross of the Donaton Mosque: The historic Pagla Mosque located in Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh has received the biggest donation of history in a day. On Saturday, the counting of donations in the mosque lasted throughout the day and when the counting was completed, a total of 9.18 crore was gathered. This amount is the highest in the donation received to this mosque at once. Just as the temples of Tamil Nadu in India get a lot of donations, now the Pagla Mosque has also become a big center of faith and trust of the people.
Earlier, the highest donation in Bangladesh was 8.21 million near this mosque. It was recorded in the count of 30 November 2024. According to a report by TV 9, people engaged in counting said that all the money was later deposited in Kishoreganj branch of Rupali Bank. At the same time, foreign exchange and gold jewelery found in donation boxes have been kept safe in the treasury of the district administration.
Counting for 10 hours
Fauzia Khan, deputy commissioner of Kishoreganj and chairman of the Pagla Masjid Management Committee, said that the counting of donations started at 7 am and it was 5 o’clock in the evening to complete it. This process lasted for 10 hours and about 401 people were involved in completing it. When donations were opened, its money came in 28 bags. At the same time, a large amount of gold jewelry and foreign currency were also found.
What will happen to so much donation?
This mosque, present on the banks of the river, comes on a large scale. The donations are usually opened every three to four months. Officials said that with this money, the expenses of Pagla Mosque and Islamic Complex are first taken up and the rest of the money is deposited in the bank. This fund helps other mosques, madrasas and orphans as well as deprived and seriously ill people across the district.
