You must be living under a rock, if you haven’t heard about Coldplay’s India tour. The British band has spread magic with its shows in Mumbai and Ahmedabad. FYI: The India stop was part of Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres tour. From Chris Martin giving a shout-out to Indian bowling sensation Jasprit Bumrah to the Ahmedabad show breaking records, Coldplay did it all and how. In the middle of this, a woman, on Reddit, opened up about her experience of attending the concert. But what started as a heartfelt moment quickly turned into something funny.
The 24-year-old explained how her colleague pressured her into buying standee tickets, even though she wasn’t a fan of English music. “Coming from a modest, middle-class background, the concert felt like a stretch financially but she went along for the experience,” she said.
At the venue, she felt out of place in her simple black tee and pants, overwhelmed by tall crowds. The woman described how the lively atmosphere left her feeling isolated and overwhelmed by a sense of inadequacy.
“Saw beautiful women all dressed up in one piece, drinking cocktails/beer (it was so expensive), holding iPhones, speaking fluent English, smoking, with their guys enjoying and singing and living their best life – I felt like I’m so behind in life, lonely amidst the crowd,” the woman wrote in her post.
After the concert, she “walked back to Nerul station, got down at Kurla, went home and cried in the bathroom.”
The Reddit post quickly gained attention. Some said, “Comparison is the thief of joy.”
A few came up with quirky remarks like, “A shadow that seeks to destroy,” “Dupatta I must deploy,” and “I got some chicken to fry.”
The thread didn’t stop there. One user quipped, “Someday I might as well fly,” while another said, “You forgot clothes to dry.”
The Instagram user behind the viral video took these witty comments and turned them into a catchy rap, leaving social media users in splits. Since being posted online, the video has garnered nearly two million views.
