Case lost the case from PVR, ‘Bhool Lapa Maa’, now Rajkummar Rao’s film will be released in theaters on 23 May


BHOOL CHUK MAAF TO HIT THATRES: Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi’s film ‘Bhool Lack Maaf’ will now not come on OTT and release in theaters. The Bombay High Court has ruled in favor of PVR, while hearing the suit on the film’s makers. In such a situation, now the film ‘Bhool Luma Luma Maaf’ will not come on the OTT and will come on the big screen.

According to Pinkvilla’s report- ‘The court has passed its order in Madock Films vs. PVR Inox Cinema case. Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi starrer ‘Bhool Lack Maaf’ will now be released in theaters on May 23, 2025. Madock Films is planning to resume its marketing campaign from May 15.

What is the whole matter?
Rajkummar Rao and Vamika Gabbi starrer film ‘Bhool Laq Luke Maa’ was first to come on screen on 9 May. However, the makers decided to release the film on the OTT platform due to the ongoing tension between India and Pakistan. According to this, the film was going to stream on Prime Video on May 16, 2025. But PVR had filed a case of 60 crores against Madock Films, the production house of ‘Bhool Lack Maaf’.

When will the ‘mistake forgiven’ for OTT?
PVR had claimed in his petition that PVR has suffered heavy losses due to the decision to release ‘Bhool Lack waiver’ on OTT instead of theaters. In such a situation, the Bombay High Court had heard the case and also stayed the OTT release of the film. The court said that the makers can stream the OTT only 6 or 8 weeks after the film is released in the theater. However, now the court has said in its judgment that On June 6, 2025, just two weeks after bringing ‘Bhool omo miss’ on the big screen on 23 May, it can be streamted on prime video.
