Christmas 2024 Bank Holiday: There is hardly a week left for the new year. Regarding this, people have started planning their holidays, but due to holidays, sometimes it becomes difficult to plan a vacation. If we talk about bank employees, they will get full holidays in the last week of December. The complete list of holidays has been released by the Reserve Bank (RBI). In such a situation, if you also have any important work, then get it done as soon as possible. For this, first take a look at this complete list of holidays.

Bank holiday on Christmas Eve and Christmas

Due to the public holiday on the occasion of Christmas, all banks will remain closed across the country. Banks will remain closed in many states of the country on Christmas Eve i.e. Tuesday. Today there are bank holidays in states like Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya. There will be a holiday for banks in other states also on Wednesday 25th December.

On Wednesday, Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Chandigarh, Delhi, Goa, Gujarat, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Ladakh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, All banks will remain closed in Odisha, Punjab, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Tripura, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal.

Banks will remain closed for four days in these states

Due to Christmas celebrations, banks in Mizoram, Nagaland and Meghalaya will also remain closed on 26th December. In Nagaland, there is a bank holiday from 24th December to 27th December due to Christmas.

Bank holidays in December 2024

  • 28 December – Fourth Saturday i.e. fourth Saturday of the month (bank holiday across the country)
  • December 29 – Sunday
  • 30 December – Monday – U Kiang Nangbah (Meghalaya)
  • 31 December – Tuesday – New Year Eve/Losong/Namsung (Mizoram, Sikkim)

However, ATMs will remain operational during this period, so that people do not have to worry about cash withdrawal during holidays. However, during this period, people are advised to keep cash with them in advance to avoid possible problems due to overcrowding or technical faults in ATMs.
