Britain Storm Bert: Storm Burt caused massive devastation in Britain at the end of November 2024. It was a “multi-hazard” event, which included winds up to 70 mph, heavy rain, snow and flooding. Due to the storm, the transport system in Britain and Ireland was badly affected. During this period, the situation became so bad that people had to use buckets, cans and tubs to remove water accumulated in their homes.

A video related to this is also going viral very fast on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). In which it can be clearly seen how natural disaster has forced a developed country to its knees. People have had to fetch water with their hands.

In Britain, Hurricane Bert caused power cuts to about 27,000 homes, and many roads, bridges and railways were closed. Heavy snowfall in England and Scotland made the situation more serious. Apart from this, there were incidents of landslides in Wales, due to which families had to be rescued. During this period two people also died. Life is being disrupted due to floods and heavy rains in southern England. This storm had issued alerts in various parts of Britain and people were advised to avoid traveling.

According to a report by Natural Resources Wales, there is a threat of water levels rising in the River Mono at Forge Road, Osbyston and Skenfrith. Due to this, flood crisis may arise in the surrounding areas. A warning has been issued to the people for this. Apart from this, more than 100 flood warnings and 200 flood alerts have been given across Britain.
