A shocking video of young boy in school uniform behind the wheel of an SUV car in traffic, along with several children, has went viral among the netizens on social media platforms.
The video, which has been shared on Instagram, showed a school kid driving a Mahindra XUV700 and several other children in school uniform navigating it through busy streets in traffic, sparking widespread concern and debate road safety and parental supervision.
The video also showed children leaning out of the sunroof. Onlookers were left in disbelief as the SUV moved through traffic.
The post with the video on social media mentioned that the children around 12 to 13 years of age were in the SUV, spotted in Maharashtra’s Thane.
The video, posted by user Prateek Singh on Instagram, said that the clip was shared by Anup Kemkar. “I recorded a video while driving, showing school students, likely in 8th or 9th grade (around 12-13 years old). A few of them were sticking out of the sunroof,” Sing wrote citing Kemkar.
“I yelled at them for their safety. There were around 5-6 students in the car. Parents should be held responsible for this, This is extremely unsafe for both the kids inside the car and the surrounding pedestrians, especially the school children walking and crossing the road in that area,” he added.

Many netizens expressed anger at the lack of parental supervision, while others highlighted the reckless behaviour poses.
One user wrote, “This is not just dangerous, it’s outright negligence. Where are the parents?”
Another commented, “Allowing kids to drive on public roads is beyond irresponsible. Authorities must take strict action!”
“The vehicle (shown in this video) should be impounded with a hefty fine on the owner,” a user said, while another added, “Prateek, I request you to make a proper alerting video on this tagging police and authorities.
