
New research has shown that there is a big difference among Indian children between maths taught in school and maths used in real life. This study suggests that while school going children are good in Academic Maths, children working in the market can mentally resolve complex transactions, but they struggle in school maths. & NBSP ;
This study has been conducted by a team of researchers including Nobel Prize winners Esther Duflo and Abhijeet Banerjee. He tried to check if the mathematics skills obtained in real life can be useful in school and whether the mathematics techniques learned in school are used in the real world of life. Researchers studied 1,436 child vendors and 471 schools in Delhi and Kolkata markets.
This study found that child vendor complex mental calculations without any help in their sales transactions Can solve, but when the same problem is given to them in books, they are unable to solve them. On the other hand, school children are good in solving questions with textbooks of maths, but they are unable to calculate the actual transaction in the market. & Nbsp;
All the children involved in this study Was under 17 years of age and most were 13 to 15 years old. Less than 1% of the working children were able to solve the practical market problems that one -third of working children had solved easily. This indicates that working children use mental shortcuts, while school going children depend on slow, written calculations. & Nbsp;
researchers believe that education system in India in India Has failed in, where there is no coordination between school and real -life maths. This study has been done by researchers from MIT, Harvard University and other institutions, and it has been published in NATURE JANANL. There is no relationship between school’s knowledge, which is not only bad for school education, but also does not help in recognizing many talent, which are already present. But when they were given questions of school maths, very few of them were able to give correct answers. & Nbsp;
