A passionate young Indian cricket team and Virat Kohli fan roasted Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz with a series of jibes taken at him from the stands at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The incident is from the Super 4s rematch between the two countries at the Asia Cup 2025.

Standing near the ropes during Pakistan’s fielding effort, Nawaz received a word of jeering from this youthful Indian cricket supporter. The kid tried to rekindle what would be horrible memories for Nawaz from the famous 2022 T20 World Cup group encounter against India at Australia’s iconic MCG. “Nawaz bhai, kya hua tha uss din bolke jao,” one could hear him saying this.

With the equation down to 15 off 6 balls, Pakistan captain Babar Azam had no option but to throw the ball to his left-arm spinner Nawaz. Nawaz dismissed Hardik Pandya and Dinesh Karthik but ended up conceding a no-ball six to Kohli before R Ashwin lofted him over the mid-off fielder for the winning runs on the final delivery. The incident of this youthful Indian supporter grilling Nawaz with a reference to the MCG clash and the bashing against Kohli got the internet buzzing, as social media users came up with mixed comments for him. While some found the moment funny, others questioned the kid’s behaviour.

“Bhai Usko Sapne Me Bhi Virat Dekhta Hoga (Brother, He Must Beeing Virat in his nightmres),” commented one user.

Someone else wasn’t too pleased and commented, “Not an appropriate behaviour. It reflects poorly on the nation and on the sport. Healthy banter is one thing, but personal insults or mocking crosses the line. Everyone deserves respect—whether on the field or off it.”

“This is totally disrespectful. He is a sportsman & he showed sportsmanship by not replying anything,” agreed another individual.

Even as the kid repeatedly shouted “tell me.. do you remember?” at Nawaz’s direction, the fielder tried to ignore the jeering and continued focusing on his fielding duties. During the incident, one of the security personnel could be seen gesturing towards the Indian supporter, telling him not to disturb the Pakistani cricketer.
