An IT engineer in Bengaluru was arrested for showing his middle finger to a woman during a road rage incident. The woman had recorded the incident and posted it online

It’s common to drive angry; sometimes the trigger is the traffic and, at other times, it could be fellow motorists. Sometimes this anger escalates to the point of road rage and, at other times, your involuntarily utter a few curses under your breath. The former could land you in legal trouble while the latter is harmless when confined to your vehicle.
But a techie working in Bengaluru found out the hard way that derogatory gestures like showing someone the middle finger on the road could invite legal trouble too!
The incident occurred on Wednesday, and as soon as the video went viral on social media, police took action. The accused has been identified as 30-year-old Harsha HB, who lives in Attiguppe and works in a private software company in Manyata Tech Park. The police arrested him on Thursday and later released him on bail.
What Actually Happened
The woman who filed the complaint said that she was driving her car through Chickpet Main Road towards Gopalan Mall. A car behind her was continuously honking, as if it needed to pass urgently. However, the road was busy, so she could not give way. Meanwhile, the car came to the left side of her car, and the driver first abused her and then showed his middle finger before leaving the scene quickly.

The woman was deeply hurt and felt humiliated by this incident. She showed wisdom by recording a video of the entire incident and posting it on the social media platform X.
As soon as the video went viral, many people demanded strict action against the accused. Chamrajpet Police also immediately contacted the woman and asked her to file a complaint.
Police Take Action, Accused Arrested
Based on the video, the police started an investigation, tracked down, and arrested the accused. However, the police are still investigating the case and recording statements from both parties.
An officer said, “We have to interrogate both parties to understand the entire incident. Until the investigation is completed, we cannot reach any conclusion.”
