Even before the implementation of US President Donald Trump’s new tariff policy, the iPhone manufacturer Apple made a bet that would have no less than a film scene. According to reports, Apple started the express shipment of iPhones from India and China in the last week of March and that too, but not one or two, but in the entire 5 large cargo airplanes, the iPhones were ordered in the US to avoid 10 per cent of tariffs being implemented from April 5.
Warehouse filled with iPhone
According to the TOI report, this operation was settled in just three days and the US warehouses were filled with iPhones lasting months. If seen, it usually does not have so much movement at this time, but this hurry of Apple shows how much a new tariff could be given.
It was told in this report that a senior Indian officer said that Apple is currently not making any plan to increase the prices of his phones in India or America. But if new tariffs are implemented, then the company will have to increase the prices soon or late.
At the moment, 10 percent tariff has been implemented. But the real problem will start from April 9, when even higher tariff slabs will apply. That is, problems for Apple may increase further in the coming weeks.
India can become Apple’s new hero
India’s entry in this entire drama is interesting. According to reports, the goods coming from China in the US will now be taxed at 54 percent, while only 26 percent from India. That is, a tremendous gap of 28 %. This gap can make India a new center for apple’s manufacturing.
Apple is already making many iPhone models and airpods in India and now it can be more fast. India now exports US $ 9 billion smartphone to America and the largest share of it is Apple.
