Bangladesh blames India : After the overthrow of former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina from power, anti-India agenda is being continuously run in Bangladesh. Bangladesh is continuously making allegations against India. At the same time, now the Foreign Ministry of the interim government of Bangladesh has made a serious allegation against India regarding the iconic photo of 1971.
What is Bangladesh accusing India of??
India and Bangladesh celebrate 16 December as Victory Day. In Bangladesh too, events are organized on a large scale on this day, because the victory of Bangladesh was ensured on this day. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Remembering this day, shared a post on social media platform X on 16 December. He wrote, “We honor the courage and sacrifice of those brave soldiers who contributed to India’s historic victory in 1971.” Bangladesh has expressed objection to this post of Prime Minister Modi.
What did the Law Minister of Bangladesh say??
Asif Nazrul, Law Minister in the interim government of Bangladesh, said, ‘The victory of 1971 is the victory of Bangladesh, India was just an ally in it.’ Nazrul had also shared the screenshot of PM Modi’s post. On Wednesday (December 18), the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh said a similar thing. The ministry cited a book by former Foreign Secretary of India JN Dixit.
Bangladesh’s another baseless allegation against India
Bangladesh Foreign Ministry’s Facebook post, citing former Indian Foreign Secretary JN Dixit’s book ‘Liberation and Beyond: Indo-Bangladesh Relations’, alleges that India deliberately avoided the surrender ceremony of Pakistan troops. Osmani was kept away. The post said that ‘Dixit has written in his book that a major political mistake in the surrender ceremony was that India had prevented the presence of General Usmani, Commander of the Joint Command from Bangladesh, at the ceremony.’
Bangladesh is making allegations by telling incomplete truth
Actually, the allegations are being made by the Foreign Ministry of Bangladesh. Let us tell you that one truth has been hidden from it. It is true that General Usmani did not reach the place of surrender, but it was not that he was prevented from attending. In the same book, JN Dixit has further written that “Commander General Usmani’s helicopter had gone to attend the ceremony, but due to getting lost on the way, he could not reach the ceremony. In such a situation, the Indian soldiers were forced to sign the surrender papers.”
