‘Arrest is insufficient, hang Netanyahu’, Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei angry at Israeli PM

Arrest Warrant Issued For Benjamin Netanyahu: A new problem has arisen for Israel, which is fighting a war on many fronts. The International Criminal Court has issued an arrest warrant for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. On the matter, Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has said that the arrest warrant for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not enough. They should get death penalty.

Khamenei, in a speech to Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) personnel on Monday (November 25), said that a death sentence should be issued for Netanyahu instead of an arrest warrant. Khamenei’s comments come a few days after the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants against Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant over Israeli actions in the Gaza Strip. He has been accused of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

‘Only arrest warrant will not suffice’

“What the Zionists did is a war crime. They issued an arrest warrant for him (Netanyahu). This is not enough. The death sentence should be issued for Netanyahu,” Khamenei said in Persian, according to the IRGC-affiliated Tasnim news agency. Death sentence should be issued for these criminal leaders.”

Iran considers the United States as well as Israel as its enemy. It is committed to the destruction of Israel and supports a vast network of anti-Israel armed groups across the region, which it calls the ‘Axis of Resistance’. These groups include Gaza-based Hamas, Lebanon-based Hezbollah and Yemen-based Houthis, who are currently at war with Israel.

‘Israel is not winning the war’

In a speech to the Basij branch of the IRGC, Khamenei said that the IRGC “will finally destroy the Zionist regime in one day.” Khamenei further said that Israel is not winning the war, but is strengthening the Iran-sponsored resistance axis through its actions.

“Bombing people’s homes in Gaza and Lebanon is not victory,” Khamenei said in Persian. Fools should not think that because they have bombed people’s homes, hospitals and people’s meetings, they have won – no. No one considers this a victory. The enemy has not won in Gaza and Lebanon. The enemy will not win in Gaza and Lebanon. The crimes of the Zionist regime in both Lebanon, Gaza and Palestine do the opposite of what they intended, that is, they strengthen and intensify the resistance. This is a general rule. It cannot be taken back.”
