The government of Prime Minister Mohammad Yunus is accused of working towards making the country “Hindu free”. In this context, the recently issued orders and policies are not only violating the rights of minorities, but also point towards violation of international human rights.

The Home Ministry and Public Service Commission of Bangladesh have issued instructions that no Hindu should be appointed to higher posts from constable to police. Because of this, applications of more than 1500 Hindu candidates have been rejected. More than 100 Hindu officers of the level of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Superintendent of Police (SP), and DIG were dismissed from service. There is a plan to appoint members of radical organizations, especially Jamaat-e-Islami, on these posts.

Many Hindus have been killed in the country since the removal of Sheikh Hasina’s government. Because of this, the situation regarding the security and rights of Hindus is worsening day by day.
