In an interview to ABC News, Lindsay said, “If you are buying goods from Russia and not helping Ukraine, then your products coming to America will cost 500 percent tariff. 70 percent oil from India and China Putin. They keep their war machines operational.”
What will be the effect on India?
After the attack on Russia’s Ukraine in February 2022, India made significant changes in the oil purchase pattern. Due to western and European sanctions, India started buying more oil from Russia. In May, India received 1.96 million barrels of barrels daily from Russia. Due to this change in strategy, Russian oil increased from 1 percent of India’s total crude oil imports to about 40-44 percent in a short time.
