Florida’s Disney World is indeed a delightful experience for both kids and adults. From thrilling rides to themed activities, the place has something to offer for everyone. But what was supposed to be a fun, family day out at the iconic amusement park turned out to be an unpleasant experience for a woman named Nicole Arena. In a series of videos that she posted on TikTok, Nicole revealed that she was shamed for wearing an outfit that was deemed inappropriate by the park employees. The ensemble in question: a sports bra and leggings. Nicole, however, defended her wardrobe pick by slamming the dress code rule.
Soon after the distressing incident, Nicole Arena took a selfie with her husband at Epcot park on TikTok, as per a report by the New York Post. The text layout revealed that she was forced to buy a shirt worth 45 dollars as the Disney World authorities claimed that she was “improperly dressed”. Nicole added that had she not complied, she would have been denied entry to the ride she had already waited an hour in line.
In the follow-up video, the park-goer showed her followers the outfit that caused the controversy. “I really did not think anything of this tbh. I had nothing showing other than my stomach and my arms, but you guys are acting like I went out naked,” she confessed.
Defending her choice of OOTD, Nicole Arena shared, “Anyone who goes to the gym knows it is totally fine to walk around with a sports bra and leggings on. I just went to Disney, how I would go to the gym.”
This recent Disney World dress code comes on the heels of another similar rule made by a steakhouse set to launch at the amusement park, reports the New York Post. Bourbon Steak by Michael Mina has issued a new directive where customers are expected to dress in a way that caters to “the restaurant’s sophisticated and upscale aesthetic.”
A part of the statement published on Bourbon Steak’s website reads, “This restaurant is one of our Signature Dining experiences…. Clothing should be clean, neat, and in good condition, free from offensive language and/or graphics. Please, no swimwear.”
