Khurram Shahzad, advisor to Pakistan Finance Minister, said that under this package, a policy based loan (PBL) of US $ 300 million and US $ 500 million loan has been given to complete the Planning work (PBG) in the country. He said that ADB has approved a bailout package of US $ 800 million for Pakistan under the reform program.
According to Pakistani newspaper The Express Tribune, the Pak Finance Ministry said that its purpose is to raise domestic resources and stabilize the economy through financial reforms. The ministry said, "This help will improve tax system, increase revenue. This is an important step towards economic self -reliance."
