After Russia, the land of Guatemala trembled due to sharp tremors, 6 recorded intensity on Richter scale

A shock of a 6 -intensity has been felt in Guatemala. According to the German Geology Research Center, the earthquake center was at a depth of 10 km (6.21 mi). Earlier on July 9, the land of Guatemala was shocked with a strong tremor of the earthquake. Several earthquake tremors were felt several times that day. The first earthquake, the intensity of 5.2, came around the afternoon in Southern Guatemala. According to the country’s earthquake science institute, it came about 60 km from the capital Guatemala City. Subsequently, several shocks with intensity of 3.9 to 5.6 were recorded.

Guatemala is a country located in Central America which is part of the Pacific Ring of Fire. This is the geographical area where the Earth’s tectonic plates remain constantly dynamic. It is located on the subduction zone between the cocos plate and the Caribbean plate. The collision and friction of the plates under the Satah is always. Due to these geological activities, this area is highly sensitive to earthquake and volcanic eruptions, due to which it tries to put pressure inside.
