Gill was 25 years and 301 days old when India sealed the victory by 336 runs, its first at Birmingham and its best away from home.
Sachin Tendulkar is the youngest captain to lead India to a win in the longest format, against Australia in 1996 when he was 23 years and 174 days old.
Sachin is followed by MAK Pataudi (23 years and 283 days) and Ravi Shastri (25 years 234 days).
