WATCH: Bumrah bowls in the nets ahead of second England vs India Test in Edgbaston

Amid speculation over pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah’s availability for the second Test due to workload management, India’s assistant coach Ryan ten Doeschate has put all doubts to rest.

Talking in the pre-match press conference on Monday, the former Dutch cricketer said, ”Bumrah available for selection for second test but final call on playing eleven not taken yet.”

Bumrah also bowled a few overs in the nets during India’s practice session at Edgbaston in Birmingham, further easing concerns about his availability.

In the first Test in Leeds, which England won by five wickets, Bumrah bowled a total of 43.3 overs and took five wickets across two innings. He took all of the five scalps in the first innings as he couldn’t get any purchase from the wicket during England’s chase in the fourth innings.

Ahead of the tour of England, the Indian coaching staff had announced that Bumrah would feature in just three of the five Tests to manage the pacer’s workload.
