A mesmerising video of Malabar Whistling Thrush singing in its melodious voice has impressed the people on social media.

The internet is full of wildlife videos that leave us amazed. Some showcase thrilling moments while others bring a sense of calm. One such video that recently caught everyone’s attention featured a bird singing in its mesmerising voice. The clip has been widely appreciated online and has gathered nearly 1 lakh views.
Native to India, the Malabar Whistling Thrush is the star of this clip. Found across the Western Ghats, the Satpura range and parts of the Eastern Ghats, this bird is well-known for its sweet whistling calls often heard at dawn. While they are not migratory, these birds often disperse during the winter months.
In the video captured by wildlife photographer Dhurv Patil, the Malabar Whistling Thrush is seen sitting on a tree branch in Karnataka and singing in its signature sweet voice. Popularly known as the “whistling schoolboy,” the bird is equally admired for its striking appearance which features a blackish upper body, metallic blue patches on its forehead and shoulders and royal-blue scaling on its back.

Since being shared, the video has gained significant attention online and sparked a range of reactions in the comments section. Many couldn’t stop praising the bird’s vocals.
One user commented, “He’s a gorgeous bird & melodious singer. Recently saw & heard this bird in Coorg Karnataka. He was just outside my hotel room balcony. I couldn’t stop listening to him. Captured him singing in my YouTube video on the hotel.”
