Prithvi Shaw seeks NOC from MCA to switch State teams

Prithvi Shaw has sought a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) as he looks to represent a different State association in the upcoming domestic season.

While confirming the development, MCA sources said the association is yet to take a final decision on the matter.

The former India Under-19 captain — who has played five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20I for India — was dropped from Mumbai’s Ranji Trophy squad last season, with the selection committee citing fitness concerns.

Shaw hasn’t played List A cricket in India since the 2022 Vijay Hazare Trophy, but he did feature in England’s One Day Cup for Northamptonshire. His last five innings there read: 97, 72, 9, 23, and 17. In his most recent outing for Mumbai two seasons ago, his last five scores were 32, 54, 39, 51, and 10.
