In a true embodiment of the phrase “aapda ko avsar mein badalna”, a man recently turned his week-long suspension into a well-deserved family vacation. Yes, you read that right! The internet can’t stop laughing and applauding his remarkable way of escaping workplace toxicity.
Sharing his story on Reddit, the man explained how he was allegedly suspended simply for refusing to work over the weekend. But instead of sulking over the decision, he chose to make the most of the unexpected break and turned it into quality time with his family.
“Yes, I got suspended from work for a week just because I said NO to work on weekends,” his post read.
But the fun didn’t stop there. During his suspension week, his employers reached out again, asking him to report back to the office. To their surprise, he coolly replied, “I will do as you said before.”
The man reportedly works at a law firm in Mumbai. His post quickly caught the attention of Reddit users, sparking a wave of reactions and witty comments.
A Reddit user commented, “You got a time-out from toxicity. Consider yourself lucky.” Another commented, “Time to switch and permanently be suspended from such a toxic place.”
One of them said, “Consider yourself lucky. If I say no on weekends, then they will give me extra weekends to work. I wish they would suspend me too lol.”
Many users also suggested that the man update his CV during the suspension and look for a new job. “Update your CV on Naukri, you are free to give interviews for 1 week.”
Another comment read, “Update your CV, get a job this week, and showcase your abilities. If you receive a job and are told you must serve the notice period, inform them you will launch a complaint against them for suspending you solely because you refused to work on weekends. However, it is definitely time for you to look for new work.”
Reddit has become a space where many users share their experiences with toxic workplace environments. Earlier this year, a man shared how his boss asked him to leave after he refused to work 12-hour shifts for a basic annual salary of just ₹3.8 lakh.
