IND vs IND-A intra-squad match: Indian players wear black armbands as tribute to Air India plane crash victims

Indian players and support staff sported black armbands and observed a minute’s silence ahead of their intra-squad practice match in Beckenham as a homage to the victims of the Air India plane crash.

On Thursday afternoon, an Air India passenger plane from Ahmedabad to London, carrying 242 passengers and crew, had crashed just moments after taking off from the Ahmedabad airport.

Only one person from the flight survived, while the total death toll rose to 265 after the aircraft crashed into a medical college complex.

The flight carried 230 passengers — 69 Indians, 53 British nationals, seven Portuguese, and one Canadian — and 12 crew members, as revealed by the airline.
