Shreyas Iyer, after leading Mumbai and Punjab Kings, takes yet another T20 side into a tournament final

After leading Punjab Kings to the IPL 2025 final, Shreyas Iyer on Wednesday helped the SoBo Mumbai Falcons make the summit clash of the T20 Mumbai League 2025 with a five-wicket victory over Bandra Blasters in the semifinal.

The Falcons will face Mumbai South Central Maratha (MSC) Royals on Thursday.

Earlier in the season, the 30-year-old Indian batter had also led Mumbai to the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 title.

Batting first in the second semifinal, Blasters managed to score 130 runs, with Dhrumil Matkar (34) leading the scoring, while Akash Parkar shone for Falcons with three wickets.

Falcons then comfortably chased the target with more than five overs to spare, thanks to an unbeaten 52 from opener Ishan Mulchandani and quick contributions from Akash Parkar (32) and Angkrish Raghuvanshi (27), securing the side’s place in the final.

In the final, Shreyas’ team will face the in-form Royals, captained by Siddhesh Lad, who scored an unbeaten half-century in the first semifinal against Eagle Thane Strikers to secure the spot in the finale with a comprehensive 8-wicket win at the Wankhede Stadium on Tuesday.

Both teams enter the title clash riding on momentum, depth and standout individual brilliance, setting the stage for a thrilling contest at the iconic Wankhede Stadium on Thursday at 7:30 PM.
