Businessman Vijay Mallya’s name appears to be synonymous with scandals and controversies, with his latest social media post sparking fresh drama on the internet. On June 7, 2025, Vijay Mallya shared a link to the Instagram profile of Hotmail co-founder Sabeer Bhatia; however, it was not an ordinary repost. Many social media users reported being directed to a different page with a message reading, “Join Indiaflash on Instagram.”
After clicking on the Indiaflash link, many even shared how they were led to a page with “pictures and videos of Indian women driving barefoot.”
Consequently, users were left convinced about Vijay Mallya’s different side, where he appears fond of “food fetish.” While the post currently works accurately, without any error or redirection, it wasn’t until his followers took multiple screenshots of the page.
Down bad sir One jokingly asked, “What is this behaviour?” along with screenshots of the redirected link.
What is this behaviour?
With that said, upon clicking on the link that was directly shared by someone, whether through DMs, messaging apps, or other platforms, one can see a pop-up or banner at the top of the post, further mentioning that it was shared by a specific account. In the case of Mallya’s post, he shared a link to Sabeer Bhatia’s Instagram post, which was originally on the India vs US mentality.
The businessman is yet to comment on the blunder. The tweet comes at a time when the Hotmail co-founder recently opened up about entrepreneurs being more successful in Silicon Valley than in India, seemingly receiving a heads-up from Mallya.
In his video, the 56-year-old said, “People ask me, ‘Why are Indian people so successful in Silicon Valley, and yet they are unable to replicate the same kind of success in India?’ The answer is quite simple — the system is built to help each other succeed. The system in India is built to pull each other down.”
In another video, he asked his followers if he should do a podcast with Vijay Mallya. Mentioning the businessman’s recent conversation with Raj Shamami, Bhatia said he would possibly do one with him in the future, diving deeper into his character and life.
